THERE is a new literary event in our region, a celebration of fiction, on at the Grosvenor Hotel, Shaftesbury (pictured), until Saturday 25th March.
Rosie King and Fran Hill, who write as Rosie Lear and Tiggy Hayes, have organised an interesting and varied programme covering different genres, including historical, crime, contemporary and children’s, and featuring published and unpublished work.
They say: “The interest we have had from authors has been wonderful, especially as they are all giving their time free of charge to enable us to offer this to the public at no charge. We only ask that they book tickets so the Grosvenor Hotel can comply with all regulations relative to health and safety.”
Rosie and Fran explain that their event is different from a book fair, “ as it is intended to encourage writers of all abilities as well as giving readers the opportunity to hear from authors.”
Rosie King has just published her sixth and final book in her medieval murder mystery series, set in and around Sherborne in the 15th century.
Fran Hill writes short stories and often reads her stories on Shaftesbury’s community radio station, This is Alfred. She runs Scribblers Writing Group for new writers to build confidence and enjoy writing with a group.
