MADS, aka Mere Amateur Dramatic Society, is returning to one of the most popular productions it has ever staged, Murdered to Death, in tribute to company stalwart Di Potter, who died earlier this year.
Di never trod the boards of Mere’s Lecture Hall stage, but she was a skillful member of the backstage crew, a stage manager, organiser of ticket sales and the welcoming front-of-house face, as well as directing several plays, among which was Peter Gordon’s Murdered to Death.
Described as a “hilarious spoof” in the Agatha Christie tradition, it is set in a country house where the residents are murdered one by one. Of course, the local detective, Miss Joan Maple, feels obliged to assist the hapless police.
Performances are from Thursday 23rd to Saturday 25th November at 7.30pm. For more details, visit the website, www.mereamdram.co.uk, or telephone 01747 861257.
