THIS year’s online Wimborne Spring Green Festival week includes an evening event on Wednesday 21st looking at what organisations can do to ‘green’ their workplaces for the benefit of staff, the general public and the environment as a whole.
There is a consensus that we need to act now to make our places of work and organisations more environmentally friendly. But how does this work in practice, other than recycling paper and stopping the use of single-issue plastic?
Anna Frizzell, sustainability officer with the Poole-based RNLI, is passionate about the issue and has been working with staff for several years to address the dilemma and has come up with some exciting and effective solutions.
She will share the RNLI’s good practice in an illustrated talk that will be inspiring and practical, offering tips to anyone interested in, or tasked with, greening their own workplace, whether that’s a business, charity, school, college or university. For example, when your essential tools, such as life jackets, are no longer fit for purpose, how might you give them another lease of life? Book for the talk at the Museum of East Dorset.
The week began with a series of lively talks and discussions, including a film showing the thriving otter population on the River Stour.
