Moscow Drug Club on tour

MOSCOW Drug Club are hard to pigeon-hole – but hugely popular, appealing to lovers of gypsy jazz, Berlin cabaret and French chanson.  The late winter tour continues with four Take Art  dates starting on 19th February at North Curry village hall, 20th February at Norton-sub-Hamdon village hall, East Quantoxhead on 21st and Caryford Hall at Castle Cary on 22nd February.

Described as “troubadours of world jazz and folk”, Moscow Drug Club take the audience to a curious musical place where elements of 1930s Berlin Cabaret, Latin rhythms, French musette and storytelling meet.

Imagine having a few shots of vodka or brandy, staggering arm-in-arm into the darkness of an eastern European cobbled street and stumbling into a bar where Django Reinhardt and Tom Waits are having an after-hours jam with the local Tziganes.

Combining original material with songs by some of the inspirational songwriters of the mid-century, including Jaques Brel, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen and Eartha Kitt, a Moscow Drug Club concert is an intoxicating and intimate musical experience.
