CONOR McPherson’s extraordinarily atmospheric play The Weir, set in a small bar in remote community in County Leitrim, is the next production by the Street Theatre Company, on stage at Strode Theatre from 19th to 22nd March.
Directed by Dennis Barwell, it runs for around two hours without an interval – to keep the tension taught. Four local men (played by Rob Prince, Adam Lanfranchi, Will Vero and Philip Turley) are settling in for a night of beer and good company. In comes a woman from Dublin, a new resident of the village who has moved into an old and reputedly haunted house.
The men start telling stories of ghostly occurrences in town, but the mood changes when the woman (Sarah Martin) reveals a true tale of haunting from her own past.
Performances start at 7.30 each night. Contact Strode Theatre for more details.
