It offers a behind-the-scenes exploration into Mary Shelley’s life and work. Participants literally walk in Shelley’s footsteps, see where she lived and wrote, and discover the dark secrets behind her legendary creation.

Running on 26th and 29th July, and every Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday throughout August, the tours begin at 2.15pm. and 4.15pm, ending at the House of Frankenstein.

“Frankensein’s creation is a truly extraordinary – and forgotten – part of Bath’s history, and our tour brings it to life in the place where it actually happened,” says Show of Strength’s creative producer, Sheila Hannon. “Walking in Mary Shelley’s footsteps, visitors will uncover the hidden corners of her world and the secrets she wove into her legendary tale. It’s an experience that’s enlightening, scandalous and haunting.”

The walking tour guides participants through the streets where Mary Shelley lived and wrote, shedding light on her tumultuous life and the gothic atmosphere that inspired her.

The journey concludes at Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein, where guests will be invited to explore the multi-sensory museum. Vicki Smith from the House of Frankenstein says: “Our partnership with Show of Strength has allowed us to craft an experience that’s theatrical and thrilling as well as educational. Visitors will be captivated by the blend of history, literature and immersive storytelling. It’s an extraordinary way to appreciate the complexities of Mary Shelley’s work and the enduring legacy of Frankenstein.”
